Welcome to Reception!

Welcome to all parents and children starting in Reception this year. We are all very excited to be in our newly extended and refurbished classroom.

PE day this year will be on Wednesday. It would be very helpful if children do not wear tights, particularly under trousers, on PE days. Children will need to be able to take off and put on their own sweatshirts, shoes and socks for PE so it would be helpful if they could practise this at home.

Library day will be Friday. All children will choose a school library book to bring home to share with their parents. In order to choose a new book they need to return their book each Friday.

We have been very pleased with the way the children have settled into their Reception classes and thank you for your part in this. If you would like to know any more about your child's learning at any time, you are very welcome to come in to speak to us.

This is a test sports report description

At Lidget Green we take part in lots of projects where the whole school works together. This year, we are working towards several awards:

Investors in Pupils, Investors in Health, the Artsmark Award and the Primary Quality Science Mark.

Working towards awards like these help us to make sure that the education and opportunities we offer your children are of the highest quality, judged against National Standards.

You will find the latest news about all of these awards on this page, in addition to whole school activities like the Pegasus Club, our e-twinning with schools in Denmark and Spain and our new ‘Learning Log’ approach to homework.

Computer Science and Education Week

For the past term 5/6F, 6H and 6L have been looking at basic coding. It seems likely that in the future knowing how to code a computer will be a vital job skill, so we have been learning the skills we will need!

As well as the games that were showcased on this blog a few weeks back, we have been looking at other coding programmes and techniques.

If you wish to have a look and practice coding yourself, click HERE!
